Hi! I’m Catalina - Cat for short. I’m a Director & Cinematographer dedicated to diverse representation and unique storytelling through detail-oriented visuals.

I am a director & producer, specialized in cinematography, based in the Los Angeles area. My work & services span from narrative short films, documentaries to music videos and commercials. Catalina Parra Films partners directly with clients in food and beverage, wellness, small businesses, musicians, artists and beyond, offering full-service cinematic video production: from documentary-style commercials, social media content, scripted films, from concept to final cut.

About Cat

I received my Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Chicago studying the relationship between philosophy and visual arts. Now in LA, I'm translating theory into filmmaking practice. I graduated in 2022 with my MFA at USC's School of Cinematic Arts where I was a recipient of an Annenberg Fellowship in Cinematography.

My films have screened and won awards at the Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Texas Gulf Film Festivals, and my DP work earned a Best Cinematography nomination at Camerimage 2023. In 2024, I was selected for the ASC Vision Mentorship Program under Fred Elmes, A.S.C. As a member of the Chicana Directors Initiative and Women of Color Unite, I'm dedicated to expanding representation of women of color in the industry — and through Catalina Parra Films, Inc., I bring that same intentionality to every brand, restaurant, and creative who wants content that feels genuinely them.
